Jordan Edens

Hello My Name Is...

Jordan Edens

                                                                                           Jordan Tebbens

My name is Jordan Tebbens, soon to be Jordan Edens after October 8th, and I am the new school counselor at Northumberland Elementary School and Northumberland Middle School. I am a recent VCU graduate with a Master of Education degree in School Counseling. I am beyond thrilled to begin my school counseling career in the wonderful county of Northumberland. We have a lot of great things planned for this school year and I am so happy that I get to work with each and every one of your children!

As one of the middle school counselors, I will be doing a variety of things in order to provide your child with a comprehensive school counseling program. I will be going into all Health classrooms beginning in October and giving classroom guidance lessons on many different topics, starting with bullying and teaching tolerance. I will also begin implementing a bullying prevention program, Green Zone, to all students at the elementary and middle school.

In addition to classroom guidance lessons, I will be providing small group counseling for students who need more support. These groups will be on an as needed basis and can be on the topics of divorce, grief and bereavement, friendship, study skills, and many others. I also will be providing individual counseling to students who require one-on-one support from a school counselor.

As we begin this school year, please do not be afraid to get in touch if you have any questions or concerns about your child. I can be contacted through email, phone, or in person. I am at the middle school all day on Tuesdays and Fridays, as well as on Thursday afternoons. I currently live in Reedville at my family's river house and commute to Richmond on the weekends to visit family. I have the cutest dachshund puppy, Bentley, who is my whole world. My favorite things to do during my free time are working out and watching TV! I can't wait to get to know you all as we get anchored in learning!
